This is an original 1984 vintage poster from the golden age of the Polish poster school. The original print was designed in 1964 and served as an advertisement for ‘Faust’ staged at the Teatr Wielki in Warsaw in 1966. The present copy was issued in 1984 in a low edition: 1000 + 150 pcs. We confirm its authenticity with a certificate.

Faust – a five-act opera by Charles Gounod to a libretto by Jules Barbier and Michel Carré, The opera is based on the first part of Johann Wolfgang Goethe’s work ‘Faust’.

The poster was issued for the promotion of the play, which took place on 6 April 1966 at the Grand Theatre in Warsaw. It was directed at the time by Ladislav Stros and starred Zdzisław Nikodem, Wiesław Ochman and Kazimierz Pustelak.

Condition: good (minor surface creases, edgewear, loss at lower left corner)
