It is one of the best acting performances by Gustaw Holoubek, who played the role of the local sheriff defending the town against looters in the film. Already at the time of its release, the film Law and Fist was considered the first Polish western, or rather ‘eastern’. The film was based on the novel “Toast” by Józef Hen.
