The author of the poster, Jerzy Skarżyński, was at the same time co-author of the set design in the film (together with Tadeusz Myszorek). Skarżyński, together with his wife Lidia Skarżyńska, also designed the costumes for the film. The film is based on a novel by Count Jan Potocki a scholar, philosopher, writer and traveler, as well as a collector at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries.
